The miniature depicts Angel Gabriel announcing the birth of Christ to the Virgin Mary. Gabriel holds a scroll with the words "Ave maria gracia plena". God blesses the scene from the cloud above. Mary stands by a pink canopy with green curtains, and holds a book open on a lectern.
