    The miniature depicts the three Magi, represented as kings, approaching the Virgin and Child, and offering gold, frankincense and myrrh. The faces of the Virgin, Child, and the kneeling king (Caspar) have been defaced and badly repainted. Joseph appears behind the canopy. The town of Bethlehem is seen in the distance, and a tree has been crudely drawn into the landscape as a later addition.
