Description:
The miniature depicts the scene of the Nativity in the stable. The Virgin Mary is dressed in a red gown and a blue cloak, her arms crossed on her chest, and looking down at the Christ Child lying on her cloak. Golden rays shine from Christ's body. The elderly figure of Joseph stands by and holds a small candle. The town of Nazareth can be seen in the distance. The ox and the ass look on.
