The full-page miniature shows the Virgin Mary kneeling by a small table on which a book lies open. The angel Gabriel, depicted with blue wings, appears to her announcing the birth of Christ. The Dove descends to her surrounded by golden rays. The border is formed from architectural pillars supporting statues of nude female and male figures.
