Description:
The body of Christ is taken down from the cross by Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea, who are standing on ladders. Mary Magdalene, dressed in green, holds out a white cloth towards Christ, and St John stands behind the Virgin Mary who is reaching for Christ's hand. The tomb is shown behind the cross. The border is decorated by roses, a bird and a periwinkle. The large initial 'H' is composed of acanthus foliage.
