At one end of the book are cookery receipts, medicinal remedies, and instructions for general household management, preceded at the beginning by a poem in a later hand and, after some blank pages, an alphabetical index. At the other end, inverted, are theological writings and, after many more blank pages, cuttings of printed poetical works
