Travelling Microscope

This is a very early travelling microscope which was made by Elliot Brothers of London. It has OM2 inscribed which implies that it was the second microscope in the Department and probably dates from the turn of the 19th and 20th Centuries. It is calibrated in Imperial measurements whereas the other early travelling microscopes (cat. 1127) are metric. It is well preserved and quite heavy and is contained in a wooden box 20x25x30cm with a handle on the top.
