A carbon copy letter is attached to front fly-leaf page: from the surgeon Sir Arthur Mayo-Robson (1853-1933) to the Leeds School of Medicine, regarding donating the notebooks to the Library, 10 Dec 1901. Mayo-Robson notes that he had acquired them upon taking up the Chair of Surgery [at the Leeds General Infirmary] in 1890.
