Juliette Drouet letter to Victor Hugo, n.d.

This letter is written in two parts. In the first one, dated 3.45pm, Drouet suspects that Hugo tried to go away from her, but she still waits for him. In the second part, dated 4.00pm, she says that she is leaving him and curses at him.

Professor Florence Naugrette has dated the letter to the early stages of their relationship. It is also the only letter not written between 1845 and 1851 in the Leeds collection .
