Contrary to what is indicated by Roth's title, MS Roth 51/5 contains only one hymn. It is authored by Mordekhai Dato (1525-1601?) and relates to the Thirteen Principles of Faith (שלשה עשר עקרים). The hymn probably was printed for the first time in 'Sefer Shirim ve-Tishbaḥot' (Florence 1755), folio [2r]. It is unclear why Roth claims in his description of MS Roth 51/5 that the hymn is not listed by Davidson, even though he listed it in his Otsar ha-Shirah, vol. 3 (New York 1930), 11, no. 215.

State of text: Worn and slightly mutilated; ink corrosion and creases in folios 1 and 11 with some loss of text.
