    Photograph of a painting by Fred Lawson of sheep washing in Apedale Beck ( Apedale) ca. 1920. At the time of photographing, the painting was in the possession of Mrs. Spensley (or Mrs. Spenceley?) of Castle Bolton. Mounted on Photo File card. With typed notes on sheep washing, including a passage quoted from the 'Morning Post' (1909), and a description of sheep washing in Keswick (Cumbria) from the William Hone's 'The Every-Day Book, and Table Book' (London: Thomas Tegg, 1826-1827).
