Shoemaker's vice in the possession of Jack Lynas, Holgate Farm, Hurst Moor ( Arkengarthdale). The shoemaker's vice is an implement made of two tapering pieces of wood which fit into a wooden handle. The two blades are adjusted by a screw so that they become more bowed as the screw is driven in, with the result that their outer ends press more tightly together. Mounted on Photo File card.
