Description:
Hornblower blowing a horn at Bainbridge ( Wensleydale). Bainbridge once served as a foresters' headquarters in the Wensleydale forest, a hunting district owned by the Lord of Middleham. The horn was blown at 9 p.m. during the months from Hawes Backend Fair to Shrove Tuesday. At the time of photographing, the horn was still being blown according to this tradition.
