Yoruba batik panel
- Original object type: Artefact
- Title: Yoruba batik panel
-
Description:
The word ‘YEMi’ is seen along the edge of the wrapper (wrap-around skirt) worn by the woman, just below the woman’s hands. This is a shortened form of a Yoruba personal name, and is probably the name of the artist. It could possibly be the name of the client, although ‘Yemi’ is a name used mostly for males.
