HAIGH, JOHN F

(Tape 44). Served as Lieutenant, later Lieutenant Colonel, in 1/13th Battalion, Warwickshire Regiment (attached 1st Battalion, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers). Enlisted in the Territorial Army, with the 2nd City of Birmingham Battalion, and in 1914 was posted as a 2nd Lieutenant to the 4th Royal Warwickshire Regiment. The Kitchener's Army 13th Battalion RW was formed as a reserve battalion. Landed at Helles, Gallipoli on 1 June 1915, was attached to the 1st Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, 29th Division, took part in Third Battle of Krithia of 4 June and was wounded in the back on 28th June. In Mar 1918 he was at Mesopotamia and was attached to Dunster force, under General Dunsterville, also serving in Persia.
