Sheep being driven from the Apedale fells towards a large stone sheep fold to await shearing, by a shepherd working with his dogs. Sheep dogs visible to the left and at back of herd rounding up the sheep, who have strayed behind a stone barn and dwelling house(?). Shepherd also visible, issuing commands to the dogs.
