[Side 1] Ted talks about severe winter of 1886, outlines annual cycle in sheep farming, describes occasion when he helped farmer experiment with special treatment of three rams eventually sold for 60 guineas at Northampton Fair. [Side 2] Ted recalls accident when uncle was killed after arms got caught in 'chaff-cutter' [= machine for cutting hay/straw for fodder], talks about first jobs on farm aged 13, recalls successfully securing wage increase by digging acre of 'mangolds' [= mangel-wurzels] in single week, talks briefly about experiences in sheep farming.
