    [Side 1] Dick describes first Christmas at home from WW1 service after 1918 Armistice, recalls very little work available and brother-in-law on dole, talks about visit to Bay Horse public house and realising he was a day past his leave date, returned to London but officer sent him to Chelsea barracks and then back home. [Side 2] Dick discusses villagers collecting water from Cow Well in past, recalls diminutive local woman (Sarah Strandish) carrying sixteen quart can of water on her head each day, breifly mentions St Helens Well, lists local industries in past incl. local lime 'kill' [= kiln] and chemical works (subsequently converted to engineer's yard). Note: Recording date 1962-04 noted on LAVC documentation, 1963-01-11 written on lacquer disc label.
