[Side 2] (continued from side 1) John recalls sister living off money till she died, recalls local working-class women 'gleaning' [= gathering leftover corn], describes working conditions in domestic service in past, comments upper classes no longer able to maintain household 'kelter' [rubbish/nonsense, i.e. superfluous ornaments, china, silverware etc.].
