Description:
The foliate initial 'H' is historiated with King David kneeling in prayer. He is facing the golden rays decending from the sky, and his harp and crown, golden and lined with blue velvet and decorated with fleur-de-lys, lie on the ground beside him. In the background is a town by a river, with towers, houses and town walls. The border is decorated with two putti, one of them clutching the neck of a large ermine, two colourful tit-type birds, two hens, strawberries, pinks, heartsease, columbine, periwinkles, speedwells, and acanthus leaves on a gold wash ground.
