    [Side 1] Bill talks about breeding pigs, recalls cycle of success and failure, incl. losing whole herd to 'purples' [= swine fever], encouraged son to keep pigs but sold yard and bought two acres outside villlage, describes bumper crop of 'tates' [= potatoes] and stresses importance of harrowing to maximise potato yield explaining how he once left two rows un-harrowed and yield was much poorer than rest of field. [Side 2] Bill talks at length about gowing potatoes, demonstrates how to remove 'chits' [= offshoots] and re-plant to increase crop.
